Steps

In a mixing bowl, take 1/4 cup unflavored oil.
Add 3/4 cup powdered sugar and beat the mixture till smooth.

sieve the all purpose flour and baking soda gradually into the smooth mixture.

Mix the batter into cut-n-fold method gently by adding the flour gradually.

Do not over beat the batter. Final batter should be in the 'ribbon' consistency.

Transfer the batter into a cake mold.
P.S: we have used silicon mold so no dusting is required. if it's not silicon mold, it needs to be dry dusted well.

Bake it on preheated oven for 180* for 25 minutes.
Just check at this point with the toothpick that it's cooked correctly, if not you can bake for more 5 minutes.
Let it cool down completely.

Your base cake is ready to be served :-)
