Makai No Chevdo (Corn Khichadi)

🧺 Ingredients

  • Grated American sweet Corn2 nos.
  • Grated Coconut2 Tbspn.
  • Oil2 Tbspn.
  • Mustered Seeds1 tspn.
  • Clove4-5 nos.
  • Cinnamon stick1 Inch.
  • Curry Leaves5-6 Nos.
  • Chilly Garlic Paste1 Tbspn.
  • Turmeric PowderPinch
  • Salt to Taste
  • Lemon juice1 tspn.
  • Mint Leavesto garnish.
  • cashew nuts, raisins to garnish.

👨‍🍳 Method — step by step

Cook the grated corn till 3 Whistles in a pressure cooker. While cooking, add pinch of turmeric powder and salt to it.

In a pan, heat the oil.

Add mustered seeds to it and let them creak for a while. Add Cloves, cinnamon stick to it.

Add curry leaves, chilly garlic paste to it and mix it well.

Add the cooked corn mixture to this pan and mix it well altogether. If it dries quickly, you can add some water(spoon by spoon). Cook it in the pan for 2 -3 minutes. At the end, add lemon juice to it.

Take this Chivda in a serving plate, and garnish it with cashew nuts, raisins and some mint leaves. Serve it HOT. !!!
